TAMPA, FL -- National Donut Day means a free donut with a beverage purchase at Dunkin' Donuts (limit one per customer). The company says Americans should celebrate the joy and fun of donuts.
You can also swing by any Krispy Kreme store and get a donut of your choice -- no purchase necessary (dine-in only).
Dunkin' Donuts Marketing spokesperson Frances Allen says this day brings a special meaning for them that they want to share, "We hope our free donut offer will create an opportunity for people to celebrate donuts and bring some extra hapiness to their day".
National Donut Day was started in Chicago by the Salvation Army more than 70 years ago.
The offer is good with participating shops throughout the Tampa Bay area during regular business hours.
Guess that's kind of a long drive for one donut for most of us. Oh well!

I did not know this... but I did know about Sonic's free Rootbeer floats on Wednesday and I took Macy to enjoy one... or two.
This is all over bloggy land! All of my fellow bloggers have been posting about this! Too bad they took our KK Store away! And to buy a drink to get a free doughnut at DD just isn't worth it!! Can't wait to see you...only 19 days!
