Mallory's team is undefeated, but we lost our top player last week because she moved up a division and this week we had to play girls that were bigger and older... and also undefeated. Mallory's team was up to the challenge. She played amazing defense against the other teams point guard, stealing the ball multiple times and holding her to only one basket. Mallory also made two baskets, but none were bigger than her last shot.
With time winding down and our team clinging to a 4 point lead, Mallory hoisted up a shot...
Now you have to understand that Mallory is used to practicing with Macy and the older girls which includes a bigger ball and a taller goal. So she often shoots the ball right over the backboard!
... the ball went flying into the air - over the height of the backboard and hit the support beam about three feet above the backboard and bounced down right into the basket!
The other team made two more baskets and Mallory's team won by 2 points!
Macy's team may have to be removed from the league because they keep winning games by 40+ points. Macy did a great job setting picks that gave her team easy layups and she also played great defense! She is very unselfish on the offensive end. She made lots of nice passes, but never attempted a shot as her team won 54-12. Next week she plays against one of her best friends - so she can't wait for that game.

Nice job people.
I read it to grandpa cuz he didn't have his glasses. We were both on the edge of our seats, held our breath when Mals shot flew into the sky, cheered and high fived it when Mals shot went in and her team one. (Ask your daddy about high fiving with grandma ma - it's dangerous) And oh my we are so proud of the job Macy is doing. Sorry to hear your team is too great for the league. Does that mean you'll move up? I know your cousin Nickolas got 11 points and had a great game Saturday. I can't remember how many points Derek had but it was fun to watch and his team won. Over and out.
We love you.
Congrats girls! Brendan & Colins started their season last week and will continue until 3/7. Colin's team, the Green Monsters are 0-2, and Brendan's team, The Blue Lightning, are 1-1. Good luck with the rest of your season!
Our girls have been on plenty of teams that have lost every game of the season - so this year has been especially fun for them.
